Michael Sheen ha revelado que trabajar en “Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue” fue “un sueño hecho realidad”.

La estrella de “Frost/Nixon“, prestó su voz al Dr.Griffiths en la película de animación y disfrutó mientras trabajaba en el proyecto.


Hablando con Press Association, el actor dijo: “Sólo hay un sitio al que volar cuando tienes polvo de hadas y eso es sobre los tejados del Londres victoriano, por supuesto. He podido hacerlo aquí. Pude cambiar la hora del Big Ben; es un sueño hecho realidad”.

Y el actor admitió que una de las grandes razones por las que participó en la película fue por su hija de doce años Lily.



“Es parte de la historia de Peter Pan con la cual crecí. Tengo una hija de 12 años y las hadas han jugado una parte realmente importante en su crecimiento”, explicó. “He visto cuanto significa esto para ella, y ahora también tengo una sobrina pequeña y a ella le encantan estas películas sobre Tinker Bell (Campanilla). Sé cuantos niños la verán y disfrutarán con ella, así que fue un privilegio real el ser parte de ello”.

Ha sido un gran año para el actor, dando también su voz a la película rompedora de la barrera del billón de dólares “Alice in Wonderland”, y también tiene previsto aparecer en la esperada película de ciencia ficción, “Tron Legacy”.

Ha completado su trabajo en “Jesus Henry Christ” y “Midnight in Paris” y tiene previsto repetir su papel de Aro en la última parte de la Saga Crepúsculo, “Amanecer”.

In the "Twilight" universe, there's no shortage of father figures. For tough, fair and loving, you have Bella's dad, Charlie Swan. For a slightly better-looking, cooler paternal icon, there's Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Now, Twilighters have a new one in 40-year-old veteran actor Michael Sheen.

We know that Sheen's Aro isn't technically the "father" of the Volturi clan, but in many ways, the star took his role as elder statesman on both sides of the camera very seriously. Recently, we caught up with the star of "Kingdom of Heaven," "The Queen" and "Blood Diamond" to get his thoughts on the "Twilight" family, a "scary as hell" Dakota Fanning and all that RPattz insanity.

MTV: Michael, at MTV News, we're obsessed with all things "Twilight," and we recently premiered the new trailer. Have you seen it?

Michael Sheen: Yes, I did see it. I was amazed to see I was in there.

MTV: Have they shown you a cut of the film?

Sheen: No, nothing yet. I'm very excited about seeing it, as most people are — especially with my daughter, who is a big fan. I look forward to going to the premiere with her.

MTV: You must have a whole new fanbase now.

Sheen: I'm very big with the under-12s. They're very big fans of "Frost/Nixon."

MTV: Tell us about your character in "New Moon."

Sheen: I play Aro. For people who aren't fans of the books, I play one of the Volturi — somebody described it as being like the royal family of vampires, which I guess is a good description. He's very calming on the surface, very gentle and soft on the surface. But beneath, he is a psychopathic killer. ... He's a great character, and I had a great time doing it.

MTV: When will we see Aro next?

Sheen: Well, he doesn't appear in "Eclipse." He appears again in "Breaking Dawn."

MTV: Have they told you to set aside some time for that one?

Sheen: Who knows? Nothing has been spoken about yet.

MTV: We can also see some teases of a dark Dakota Fanning in the "New Moon" trailer. How is she in the film?

Sheen: She's fantastic. She's scary as hell, but she looks so sweet. She's got a great character there. People are really going to love her.

MTV: You've worked with all kinds of actors. But is there anything quite like working with the maelstrom that is Robert Pattinson?

Sheen: [Laughs.] I don't know how he copes with it all. I certainly wouldn't have been able to deal with it when I was his age. He and Kristen are really amazing. They're fully committed to what they're doing, and I wish them all the best.

MTV: What's the one "New Moon" scene you're most excited to see come together?

Sheen: There's a great scene that involves all of them. Robert, Kristen — Ashley is there as well. All the Volturi are there, and we're on this amazing set, and there's a lot of effects and stuff. I think that will be amazing.

Michael Sheen says security was so tight on The Twilight Saga: New Moon that people couldn't even take photos on set. The actor, who plays Aro in the film, told Newsbeat there was somebody who was given the task of preventing leaks.

He said: "I remember someone whose job was containment and I thought: 'What does that actually mean? Does that mean stopping people from getting on the set?' "And it wasn't, it was to stop people on the set taking pictures and sending them out."

Sheen, star of Frost/Nixon and The Queen, revealed that Twilight fans were actually pretty well behaved during filming.

'Bit mental'

"There's a lot of security but there was nobody hanging around the set or anything like that," he said. "I think all the Twilight fans are very well behaved on the whole, they let them do the work and then when they're out and about they go a bit mental."

Sheen's daughter will be hoping to meet some Twilight stars in LA

For Sheen though, the big bonus has to be the brownie points he's scored with his daughter. He said: "The best thing about it is I'm now a poster on my own daughter's wall, which is about the best thing that could ever possibly happen. "When they first asked me if I wanted to do it, I hadn't read the books or anything, so I had to ask my daughter what the character was like without tipping her off… because I didn't want to get her all excited if I didn't end up doing it. "She said she thought Aro, my character, was bald but he's got long black hair so I hope I haven't ruined it for her by not being bald. She cried when I told her. "No matter what happens I have to be at the premiere in LA. That's the whole reason she wanted me to do it, so she could go to the premiere."

Sheen was talking at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden, where he scooped actor of the year.

No importa lo que pase, tengo que estar en la premiere en Los Angeles. Esa es toda la razón de que ella quería que hiciera esto, para que ella pudiera ir a la premere.”

Sheen fue declarado el ‘Hombre del Año’ por GQ en el Royal Opera House en Londres.

Michael Sheen is receiving a Most Excellent Order of the British Empire award, specifially an OBE which gives him the rank of  officer.  The  Queen will be conferring this honor at Buckingham Palace.  Where  Michael will be surrounded by family. “This is a huge honour. I am both thrilled and slightly  mystified. But very grateful.  It’ll be nice to meet the real Queen at last.”
