First of all, Kristen Stewart showed up to the event sporting some short hair in an all-black ensemble. The actress was adamant incontinuing to deny any rumors of a real-life romance with Robert Pattinson.
Stewart seemed upbeat when she addressed the audience and announced, "The whole rumor, tabloid stuff, it's so obviously false." She added, "I don't take it personally, because I have gotten so much experience with this, it's gotten easier."
However, she admits that she can "understand that people have a hard time seeing us outside of our characters." She adds, "I get why they want to know about us and want us to be together and all of that, but I just have to sort of not think about it."
Robsten talk aside, Kristen had plenty of good things to say about her co-stars.
On Bryce Dallas Howard: "Bryce is scary. She's really oddly sweet as well, so it's funny to see her switch back and forth."
On Taylor Lautner: "I know I'm using this grammatically incorrect, but he's the funnest guy I've ever hung out with. Even seeing him walk around on set was a different experience. He's become a different person. He's really grown up...Taylor rode motorcycles really well."
About herself: "I'm a boring person. I don't go out to bars and stuff a whole lot unless it's an event...I'm never going to be a biker. I'm scared of cars."
About Bella Swan: "I think Bella is a good character for girls to look up to. The fact that she's normal, and I think the most typically relatable thing is that she's awesome and she doesn't even know it. I feel protective of Bella. I feel a shared ownership."
The actress also explained that she wasn't sure when filming will begin on the fourth Twilight film, nor did she know if Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies.
Kristen's final words for fans were, "I really feel like if you feel like you need to do something, then you need to do it. And by it, I mean anything. Be extreme. Go for it. I think that's the point. I know this is a movie about immortality and mortality, but you only live once."
After Kristen spoke her piece, the Cullens took to the stage, acting every bit like one big happy family, with Ashley Greene jokingly askingKellan Lutz if he wanted to sit on her lap. Nikki Reed kicked things off by explaining, "I think this time, we were more prepared. And we had the fans behind us. It was a much more fun, relaxed experience."
This time around, Kellan Lutz says he stayed away from the beach in order to avoid having to spend an extra hour in the makeup chair getting pale. He confessed to an obsession with candy and animals and that "Meeting Michael Bay was so cool."
Then the Volturi arrived, consisting of Dakota Fanning, Cameron Bright, Jamie Campbell Bower and Michael Sheen. Michael Sheen joked, "It's quite thrilling to have Dakota Fanning call you master." He also shared that his daughter has Twilight and New Moon posters covering her bedroom walls, but that she added one of him out of pity.
Jamie Campbell Bower explained that he didn't believe the Volturi were evil. As he puts it, "We're the government and not everyone likes the government, which is fine."
Dakota Fanning talked about her character, Jane, saying that she thought the most interesting aspect of her personality was that she didn't use her power for good. She confessed that wearing the red contacts took some getting used. Dakota has had an exciting couple of months, since she was the only member of the Volturi cast who got to fly to Italy and was just voted homecoming princess at her high school.
Then director Chris Weitz spoke his piece, telling press that he was always convinced Taylor Lautner would be playing Jacob Black, although for a moment it looked like there was a "brief possibility" he would be recast.
He added, "I generally think it's been one of the best soundtrack albums ever created."
