Back in June, the news came that Twilight series-inspired Barbie dolls of Edward and Bella were being made available in Canada, but the details were thin, and ordering availability for non-Canadians was as-yet unknown.Summit Entertainment has just announced, however, a very exciting update.

These Barbies will be available starting on November 1st, just in time for The Twilight Saga: New Moon's release, for $24.95 whereever dolls are sold.


Sharon Zuckerman, the designer of the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls, is also a Twilight fan and had this to say about the line:

“I fell in love with the TWILIGHT series and was obsessively reading the books when I was assigned the project to design the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to find out that I would design the dolls and get to work with Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie herself came to Mattel and art directed the look of the dolls. She was integral in perfecting every detail as she really wanted Edward and Bella to embody the spirit of the characters that she envisioned while writing the series. We also had the ACTUAL costumes from the movie set that were used in the “Forever 17” scene to help inspire the costumes for the dolls. It was an unforgettable experience and I hope TWILIGHT fans are just as excited about the dolls as I am!”

“Me enamoré de la saga de Twilight y fue obsesivo leer los libros cuando fui asignada para el proyecto del diseño de los muñecos de Edward y Bella. Como pueden imaginar, estaba emocionada de que iba a diseñar los muñecos e iba a trabajar con Stephenie Meyer. La misma Stephenie vino a Mattel y dirigió el arte de los muñecos. Ella fue integral en pedfeccionar cada detalle como si quisiera a Edward y Bella encarnar el espíritu de los personajes que ella creo mientras escribía. Tenemos también la actual escenografía del set de la película que se utilizó en la escena de “por siempre 17” para que nos ayudara con la vestimenta de los muñecos. Fue una inolvidable experiencia y espero que los fans de Twilight estén tan emocionados como yo con los muñecos!”

Nota del Autor (osea Yo, jaja): Y con esto, tengo la esperanza de que lleguen a México, siendo que Mattel provee de material aquí también, estaré esperando con ansias para poder ver estos muñecos de cerca...
